Gender Inequality in Whiplash Injury from a Car Crash

Women tend to be hurt more often and more severely than men from whiplash injuries sustained in an auto accident. This is thought to be the result of women having smaller necks. In other words, men have increased muscular bulk and larger bone structure in their necks, which seems to offer a protective benefit from the abnormal forces imposed on the neck in a car accident that often results in whiplash injuries.

Debunking the #1 Myth About Preventing Auto Accident Injury

I often hear people comment that if you are relaxed at impact that you will not get hurt in an auto accident. These car accident induced soft tissue injuries often heal slowly and inefficiently. Multiple studies have demonstrated that roughly over half of whiplash-injured patients had not reached functional recovery at 3 months, and that approximately one third or more whiplash-injured patients had not reached functional recovery at 6 months. Wow, what can we do to help this?

Five Fantastic Female Chiropractors

Mention chiropractors, and one is likely to draw up an image of a healthy, fortysomething year old male, who has built some impressive forearm muscles, as a result of years delivering hands-on care to his patients. But there is another chiropractor on the block, and she can deliver a solid side posture on a pro football linebacker like it's no one's business. Not only that, she lays her hands on the spine of a one-week old child, with a tender touch like that of the infant's own mother. From the eastern shores of Halifax, Nova Scotia to the Western inlet of the San Francisco Bay, the demand for a caring and professional female doctor of chiropractic, is steadily on the rise in northern America.
